Missing Dog: Juno
by Ego on Jan.28, 2009, under NewSpew, Woodlewog
I like to help out my fellow canophiles by publicizing any lost dog notices. After gassing up at the Kwik-Fill in Geneva on Monday (1/26/09), I saw the notice below at the checkout counter. The attendant told me Lauren works there.
Please keep a lookout for Juno as you drive along Route 14. It is very cold and snowy out there, and the tractor trailers go too fast.
Here are the details:
- Off-White Cockapoo
- Blue Collar
- Went missing around 12 p.m. on 1/14/09, on Rt. 14 between Billsburo and Armstrong Roads.
That’s just south of Geneva. Click for large map:

- Call Lauren at 585-451-0216 or 315-789-1962
(She’s offering a reward, but seeing Juno safe in Lauren’s arms would be worth a million bucks to me.)

Nervous about the returning rise of gasoline prices, I squeezed as many drops as possible into the tank last night at the Kwik-Fill in Geneva (where, the price seems to be a couple cents less than here in Penn Yan — which applies to most other localities in the universe). My visit was not so much about filling up (I needed only three gallons — but think of my future savings!), rather to check on the status of Juno.
The notice was no longer taped to the counter and it was Lauren herself who checked out my purchase. She said there was no word and it had been exactly a month since he disappeared; she had decided somebody took him. [Bastards!] I commiserated but said at least that’s better than the alternatives; I had been worried he’d been hit by a car or truck. She agreed and seemed to be transitioning to the acceptance stage. I had to point out that there are lots of other cute dogs, waiting to be adopted at shelters [why couldn't those bastards have gone there first?] and various life-goes-on mumblings. I kinda felt a little bogus — it’s almost three years since Harry died and the hole in my heart is no smaller. Then the attractive lady from the other side of the pump island came in to pay and I had to leave.
