E G O S P E W

Here is the quality of graffiti one comes across in Florence, Italy.  This, on a wall inside a restaurant, Le Carceri, converted from a former prison.  I can neither confirm nor deny that 1960s antiwar protesters were incarcerated there.  But cries for Peace Now re-echoed not so distantly in my head as I allowed the fragrance of my blood-red Tuscan cabernet to waft past a left nostril.
